About the Navigator Entrepreneurship Charter

We, the partners and staff of Navigator Consulting Group, recognise that entrepreneurship is the foundation of business creativity and growth

Founded in 1995, Navigator has always believed that technological innovation and entrepreneurship are among the world's most powerful drivers of economic growth and social progress. For our first fifteen years, we advised entrepreneurs, investors and governments on investment strategy, corporate finance, technology adoption and business development.

In 2010, the European financial crisis erupted in Greece before transferring to Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Cyprus and other countries. Working on the frontlines of this crisis convinced us that rather than remaining passive consultants, working on assignment only, we needed to take a more proactive stance towards supporting innovation, entrepreneurship and growth.

And so, in midst of one of the most brutal economic depressions to hit our home market, we decided to launch the Navigator Entrepreneurship Charter: a long-term commitment to become active participants in entrepreneurship rather than simply advisors to it.

The Charter committed Navigator to supporting one startup, spin-off or social enterprise every year between 2010 and 2030, combining strategic advisory services with direct angel investment, mentoring, business incubation and long-term operational support.

Unlike a traditional accelerator or venture capital fund, the Charter was designed as a patient, long-term initiative. Navigator would selectively support entrepreneurs whose businesses demonstrated strong commercial potential, technological innovation or wider economic and social impact.

Each investment would receive not only capital but also access to our international network of investors, universities, industry experts and corporate partners, together with practical support in business planning, governance, fundraising, financial modelling, digital transformation, international expansion and strategic management.

Over the course of the Charter, Navigator has established or supported more than fifteen startups and two social enterprises, investing over € 1 million of own capital while helping these ventures secure more than € 4.5 million in total funding. These ventures have ranged from digital platforms and financial technology to hospitality technology, electric mobility, investment promotion, digital marketing and international enterprise development.

The Charter has also become a laboratory for Navigator's own professional development. Every investment has provided practical experience in founder dynamics, product-market fit, customer acquisition, governance, pricing, fundraising, shareholder relations, international expansion and, equally importantly, the challenges of failure and business closure.

Several ventures have achieved successful exits, others continue to grow, while some were deliberately discontinued after proving commercially unviable. This balanced portfolio reflects the realities of entrepreneurship and has strengthened Navigator's ability to advise founders with practical insight rather than purely theoretical knowledge.

Among the ventures supported through the Charter are technology startups such as Nina Technologies, an intelligent ordering platform for the hospitality sector integrating QR technology, point-of-sale systems and digital customer engagement, and GR1T Motorcycles, an advanced electric motorcycle manufacturer developing lightweight electric mobility solutions for European and international markets.

Other initiatives include investment promotion platforms in Cyprus and Greece, digital finance ventures, innovation conferences, regional investment initiatives and new enterprise development platforms such as Invest4Impact and European Project Finance, representing the latest generation of Navigator-led entrepreneurial initiatives.

The Entrepreneurship Charter has also positioned Navigator within the wider European innovation ecosystem. Beyond its own investments, the firm has supported entrepreneurs through mentoring assignments for Microsoft for Startups, the Centre for Entrepreneurship at the University of Cyprus, the SAP Startup Factory, and European innovation programmes delivered on behalf of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA).

These activities have enabled Navigator to combine practical entrepreneurial experience with policy development, startup acceleration and innovation ecosystem design at European level.

Today, the Navigator Entrepreneurship Charter remains one of the firm's defining commitments. Rather than viewing entrepreneurship as a consulting discipline, Navigator regards it as a long-term partnership built on shared ambition, shared expertise and, where appropriate, shared financial risk. The Charter continues to guide the firm's investment philosophy and provides the intellectual foundation for Invest4Impact, a platform designed to help founders transform innovative ideas into investment-ready, internationally competitive enterprises through practical experience, disciplined execution and sustained strategic support.
