Philip AMMERMAN
Founder & Programme Director
Philip Ammerman is an international strategy, innovation and investment advisor with more than 30 years of experience supporting entrepreneurship, technology commercialisation, enterprise growth and investment projects across Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
He is the Founder and Managing Director of Navigator Consulting Group, an international advisory firm established in 1995, and has advised on more than 400 investment, restructuring and enterprise development projects with a combined investment value exceeding €8 billion, including more than €2 billion in technology investments.
Philip has worked extensively with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), leading commercial due diligence, investment appraisal, restructuring and enterprise development projects throughout Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and other countries, supporting both private enterprises and international financial institutions. His work has included investment due diligence, business planning, strategy, operational transformation, corporate finance and investment readiness across manufacturing, energy, technology, pharmaceuticals, hospitality, agribusiness and industrial sectors.
He serves as a consultant and evaluator to the European Commission, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and the European Innovation Council (EIC), supporting Horizon Europe and other innovation programmes. His work has included financial sustainability assessments for the EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs). He supported EIT in development of impact reporting methodologies for innovation funding as well as the development of the Deep Tech Talent Initiative, a flagship programme to train 1,000,000 talents in Deeptech between 2023-2025. He is also an evaluator for Horizon Europe and other European research and innovation proposals.
A committed entrepreneur, Philip founded the Navigator Entrepreneurship Charter, a long-term commitment to found, invest in or actively support one startup every year between 2010 and 2030. Through this initiative he has launched or co-founded numerous ventures spanning technology, finance, mobility, investment promotion and business intelligence. Current initiatives include GR1T Motorcycles, an electric motorcycle manufacturer; European Project Finance, an innovative financing platform for EU-funded projects; ART.Cy, an international conference and exhibition for contemporary art; and Invest4Impact, an international enterprise development platform built around the Invest4Impact Growth Framework.
Philip is also an experienced mentor, trainer and speaker, supporting founders, accelerators and innovation ecosystems throughout Europe. He has served as a mentor or trainer for organisations including Microsoft for Startups, SAP Startup Factory, the University of Cyprus, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry, S2Xpeed, the Research Promotion Foundation of Cyprus and numerous international universities, business schools and entrepreneurship programmes.
Philip holds a B.Sc. in Geological & Geophysical Sciences and a B.A. in African Studies from Princeton University, together with postgraduate studies in venture finance, fintech and digital business from the University of Oxford, the University of Barcelona and other leading institutions.
He is the author of the High Growth Enterprise Architecture (HGEA) methodology and the Minimum Viable Enterprise (MVE) concept, which form the intellectual foundation of the Invest4Impact Growth Framework.
